Partnerships & Alliances

The Foundation works in partnership with various organizations in order to implement activities outside its core competencies, to gain technical expertise, to scale up its programs, to provide technical assistance and to share knowledge and best practices in the field of rural development. Our partners include Indian government bodies, international public institutions, local and international NGOs, universities and research institutes.

Examples of collaborations undertaken in 2005 include:

  • In water management, we provided technical assistance to the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) to design a rainwater-harvesting program for Gurgaon city.
  • In income enhancement, the Foundation is working closely with the local government of Jyotisar, Haryana, to jointly implement the three-year, UNDP funded Endogenous Tourism Project (ETP), designed to increase the earning capacity of the population.
  • In rural health, the prominence of eye problems and the absence of adequate medical facilities prompted us to call upon the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to provide services in our villages. We organized a cataract camp where patients were screened and operated free of cost.
  • Our family life education program owes much to the expertise of the Center for Development and Population Activities (CEPDA). In 2005, we assessed, in partnership with CEPDA, whether long-term approaches or short camps were more effective in imparting life skills to young people.
