The Digital Awareness training aims at connecting our rural children to the world of computers, become familiar with technology-enabled learning tools, internet usage and cyber safety. Furthermore, our extended Digital Libraries project initiative creates an accessible offline database, which provide students with a diverse range of learning materials consisting of the state board’s class books, general knowledge material, motivational biographies, dictionary, world map, books on current affairs, logical reasoning, learning resources on competitive exams, among others tailored to meet the specific needs of different students and to complement the school curriculum.

Our Life Skills Awareness module focuses on development of important social and emotional abilities in children, and knowledge of governance for village’s development. It includes building various capacities such as self-reflection, planning and goal setting, problem solving, gender sensitivity. Understanding the aspects of nutrition, health, hygiene, and climate change. Students learn about local participation, active citizenship and processes for availing the services and facilities being provided under various government schemes.

School Management Committees (SMCs) are community groups that include parents, teachers, and community members to oversee school functioning. School Management Committees (SMCs) and School Development and Management Committees (SDMCs) are vital grassroots-level bodies in India’s education system, designed to enhance community participation, ensure accountability, and improve the quality of education in government schools. Mandated under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009, these committees decentralize educational governance by involving parents, local stakeholders, and educators in school management.

Composed mainly of parents (three-fourths), teachers, and local representatives, with at least 50% women and representation for disadvantaged groups, the SMC acts as a key link for community participation in ensuring effective and inclusive schooling.

We strengthen SMCs by providing training on roles and responsibilities, school planning, financial management, monitoring learning environments, and improving accountability. Empowered SMCs help ensure better school quality, improved facilities, greater sustainability and builds active community participation.

The foundation works to improve/ enhance WASH facilities in schools by upgrading toilets, handwashing stations, drinking water systems, and sanitation infrastructure. We provide water harvesting solutions, to provide potable water to students for drinking and sanitation purposes. Arrangements for separate toilet blocks for boys and girls, along with a hand-washing station, are made in school to ensure gender-friendly and child-friendly sanitation facilities. Alongside we promote hygiene education, and train school staff and students to maintain facilities. This creates a healthier and safer environment that supports learning and reduces absenteeism, especially among girls.
