The earliest lessons learned became the cornerstones of the SMSF Integrated Sustainable Village Development (ISVD) model:\\ Mutual trust between the foundation and the community must be nurtured so that villagers see the SMSF team as partners in their progress. \\ To enhance the comfort level in partnership with the community, the grassroots staff is ideally hired from the same region and speaks the same dialect.\\ To have an impact, any project must be community-led, meaning that representatives from every part of the community must be involved from the start so they are able to assume responsibility for continuing progress and/or maintenance required once the foundation team completes their part of any project.\\ To create sustainability of the project, establishing appropriate committees and building village-level institutions is vital for empowering beneficiaries with adequate training and knowledge so they are well prepared to assume full responsibility for projects done in partnership with the foundation.SMSF team members completed the Village Champions training session in village Ghagas, block Nuh, Haryana9
