Addressing some of the consequences of climate change and environmental degradation, the agriculture development program inculcated climate-resilient agriculture practices. In 2021, the foundation team explored the effective management of crop residues in Punjab with super-seeder machines. This practice helps farmers mitigate soil degradation, enhance nutrient recycling, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, thus promoting sustainable agricultural practices.In the Kolar region of Karnataka, S M Sehgal Foundation started a project to bolster Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) to build the capacities of farmers by creating or strengthening collectives of farmers and establishing market linkages.
