With support from the partners, S M Sehgal Foundation (Sehgal Foundation) designs and promotes rural development interventions that create opportunities, build resilience, and provide solutions to some of the most pressing challenges in India’s poorest communities. Sehgal Foundation invites applications for the position of Project Associate.
Location: Gujarat and Himachal
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in training and capacity building in the rural development/NGO sector.
Position Requirements:
- Postgraduate degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Education, Development Studies, or related field is preferred.
- Prior experience working in Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, or similar rural contexts preferred
- Strong facilitation and communication skills
- Fluency in Gujarati/ Hindi (depending on the state)
- Good understanding of community institutions like Panchayati Raj Institutions, and government programs and schemes
- Ability to travel extensively and work in diverse rural settings.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills
Job Description:
The Project Associate (Training specialist) will deliver context and project specific capacity-building initiatives for local community members and institutions along with field team members under CSR supported projects in multiple locations. The role aims to strengthen community participation and sustainability of rural development interventions in various project locations. Key responsibilities include the following:
- Conduct training needs assessments and prepare state-wise training plans
- Design and customise training modules and materials using participatory training approaches with support from Project Lead
- Mobilise local community and village level institutions and facilitate structured regular training sessions on various thematic areas as per project requirements
- Conduct Trainings of Trainers (ToTs) to build internal facilitation capacity
- Provide post-training handholding and guidance to local communities for application and adoption of learnings generated through the training sessions
- Integrate cross-cutting themes such as gender equity, social inclusion, and climate resilience
- Document training activities, learning outcomes, and best practices for internal learning and partner reporting along with maintenance of registers and seamless data integration in internal MIS
