8 Years of Impact | Bhamashah Award 2025
S M Sehgal Foundation received its eighth consecutive win of the Bhamashah Award in the Shiksha Vibhushan category from the Government of Rajasthan. The 2025 award honors Transform Lives one school at a time. The program has benefited more than 85,000 rural schoolchildren in 239 government schools across nine states with improved infrastructure and digital access. Read more…

Stories of Change
Doddashivara Government High School in Malur Taluk, Kolar, Karnataka, serving 190 underprivileged students, has been transformed. Once lacking basic facilities, the school now boasts new toilets, a hygienic kitchen, upgraded classrooms, a hand wash station, dining hall, playground, and educational wall art, creating a safe, engaging space that has boosted student attendance, hygiene, and community trust.

S M Sehgal Foundation Signs MoU with TAAS to Advance Agricultural Development
S M Sehgal Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Trust for Advancement of Agricultural Sciences (TAAS), marking a significant collaborative milestone in agricultural development efforts and outreach across India. The partnership will help both organizations plan and carry out activities together, including field-level work and larger platforms such as conferences, seminars, and dialogues. The MoU also creates opportunities for joint publications that will enhance India’s agricultural knowledge and guide future policy development.

Clean Water, Shared Responsibility
Under a WASH Project collaboration in Karnataka, supported by The Coca-Cola Foundation, two new reverse osmosis water purification units were inaugurated and handed over to communities in Kolar district. The event, attended by over 120 villagers, including panchayat leaders, VDC members, teachers, and officials, celebrated shared responsibility and local ownership. The S M Sehgal Foundation team emphasized the importance of clean drinking water and community-led sustainability.

Helping Farmers Manage Crop Waste
DCB Bank and S M Sehgal Foundation launched a Crop Residue Management project in Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab, to address the environmental impact of stubble burning. The initiative supports farmers with sustainable alternatives such as super seeder use and soil testing, promoting better soil health and reduced residue burning.

Water Conservation Project
Under a CSR initiative by IndusInd Bank and S M Sehgal Foundation, villages in Bhiwani and Jhajjar are seeing revived water sources and improved farming. The 2024–2026 Water Conservation Project uses solar-powered systems, smart irrigation, and local training to restore ponds, raise groundwater levels, and boost livelihoods, offering a replicable model for rural water security in India.Watch the video here

Groundwater Crisis and Community Solutions
Salahuddin Saiphy spoke at the Sustainable & Holistic Food Systems Dialogue organized by Kheti Virasat Mission at Panjab University, Chandigarh. In the session on “Building Community Action for the Future of Farming, Food and Health,” he shared the foundation’s work on water management and stressed the urgent need for local communities to address depleting groundwater, polluted water sources, rising demand, and climate-related challenges. He emphasized water conservation, wastewater reuse, and community-led solutions as key to sustainable change.

Training Farmers in Natural Coffee Farming
In collaboration with a CSR-supported project, S M Sehgal Foundation and Krishi Vigyan Kendra conducted training sessions across three blocks in Chikmagalur, Karnataka. At least 130 farmers learned to prepare and apply Jeevamrutha and Panchagavya, natural inputs that boost soil health and coffee crop strength. With expert guidance, practical demos, and input kits, the initiative promotes sustainable, low-input farming practices for small farmers.

Online Training on Rainwater Harvesting
S M Sehgal Foundation is supporting the Interactive Online Training on Rainwater Harvesting and Water Literacy, organized by Young Rainwater Champions (YRC) in collaboration with Lanka Rain Water Harvesting Forum, South Asian Rainwater Harvesting Network, Kanchan Nepal, International Rainwater Harvesting Alliance (IRHA), and RAINY.
