The Recycled Wastewater: An Alternate Water Resource for Water Scarcity Area project marked a significant milestone with the formal handover of a Wastewater Recycling and Reuse System to the community in Sehlanga Village, Jhajjar, Haryana. The project was supported through the CSR initiative of DCB Bank Ltd. and implemented by S M Sehgal Foundation.

The system treats 73,000 litres per day of wastewater into a reliable irrigation resource, supporting nearly 25 acres of farmland while reducing dependence on freshwater in water-scarce and saline-affected areas.
Equipped with an IoT-enabled smart monitoring system that tracks key water quality parameters, enabling efficient operation, transparency, and data-driven management.
More than 100 community members participated in the handover ceremony and pledged to own, operate, and maintain the system, reinforcing its long-term sustainability. Their enthusiastic participation reflects growing confidence in wastewater recycling as a practical solution for strengthening rural water security.
