Gayatri from Sunari village, Haryana, lives with her husband and son, and their family depends on daily wages. As household expenses continued to strain the family’s budget, Gayatri was always on the lookout for financial relief through government programs. Through the Citizen Information and Support Center Helpline (toll-free number 1800-120-2575), operated by S M Sehgal Foundation with the support of Publicis Sapient, Gayatri learned about the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, a Government of India initiative that provides financial assistance and subsidies to support households in installing rooftop solar systems. DCB Bank CSR Projects Expand Sustainable Agriculture in Punjab, UP, and Haryana
S M Sehgal Foundation (SMSF), with the support of DCB Bank’s CSR initiative, has enlarged the scope and influence of the Crop Residue Management & Diversification Project in Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab to ten villages. The extended reach covers the villages of Parmour, Sampli, Dandiana, Kajjal Majra, and Shergarh Bara. As part of the project, soil samples were collected from the newly added five villages. A soil test is a critical first step toward sustainable farming, helping farmers understand nutrient deficiencies and enhance crop productivity. Read more…

The Bolstering Farmer-Producer Organizations (FPO) Project Helps FPO Secure Institutional Market Linkages
Through the Bolstering Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO) Project, implemented by S M Sehgal Foundation and funded by the Walmart Foundation in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Parsara Farmers Producer Company Limited facilitated the collective sale of 8,713 quintals of wheat from 248 farmers to an institutional buyer between April and June 2026.
The transaction generated a total value of more than Rs 22.4 million and resulted in a profit of over Rs 1.5 million for the FPO, demonstrating the value of collective aggregation and market linkages.
