At the EAW Aqua Exhibition and Conference, S M Sehgal Foundation participated as an exhibitor, showcasing SMSF work in water conservation and community-led water management. The stall drew visitors from across the water sector and academia, creating opportunities to share experiences, exchange perspectives, and learn from organizations working on water and rural development. DCB Bank and SMSF Turn CSR into Action for Water Security
The Recycled Wastewater: An Alternate Water Resource for Water Scarcity Area project marked a significant milestone with the formal handover of a wastewater recycling and reuse system to the community in Sehlanga Village, Jhajjar, Haryana. The project was supported through the CSR initiative of DCB Bank Ltd. and implemented by S M Sehgal Foundation. The system treats 73,000 liters per day of wastewater into a reliable irrigation resource, supporting nearly 25 acres of farmland while reducing dependence on freshwater in water-scarce and saline-affected areas. Project Udaan Empowers Farmers to Build Better Futures
Through Project Udaan, supported by John Deere India Pvt. Ltd. and implemented by S M Sehgal Foundation, farmers in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh, are embracing multi-layer farming to enhance productivity, diversify crops, and build resilient livelihoods. Kusum, from Durgeshwar village, established a multi-layer farm on 0.09 acres of land under the project in February 2026. By July 2026, she had harvested five crops, including 180 kg of beans, 120 kg of beetroot, 785 kg of brinjal, 99 kg of cowpea, and 55 kg of coriander. The sale of surplus produce in local markets generated an income of Rs. 32,750 within five months, compared to her previous annual farm income of Rs. 7,500. Read more…
Sports, Confidence & Community: Celebrating the Spirit of Participation!
A joyful and energetic National Sports Day pre-celebration was organized at Upper Primary School, Luhara Village, Mathura, under the Holistic Rural Development Programme supported by HDFC Bank Parivartan. The event brought together students, teachers, Gram Pradhan, VDC members, and community members on one platform to celebrate the power of sports and community participation.
A series of engaging sports and creative competitions emphasized an important message: sports in addition to winning, are about participation, learning, confidence, teamwork, and building a positive attitude.

Anjali Makhija Speaks on Gender and Water Security
At the panel discussion on Gender and Water Security: Bridging Gaps for an Equitable Future, Anjali Makhija, trustee and CEO, S M Sehgal Foundation, pointed out that women’s participation leads to systemic change with a multidimensional impact. Based on SMSF’s activities in Nuh, Haryana, she also talked about the foundation’s work with more than 5,000 women coffee farmers in Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka, where the women took up water-efficient agricultural practices and improved water harvesting through cradle pits and farm ponds. Transformation work commences at Leha school
A ceremony was held to mark the commencement of school transformation work in Leha village, Phulambri Block, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, Maharashtra, under the Transform Lives one school at a time project. The ceremony was attended by Smt. Ashwini Lathkar, District Education officer; Smt. Geeta Tandale, Deputy Education officer; and Smt. Kranti Dhaswadikar, Block Education officer. The event also brought together the School Management Committee (SMC) chairman and members, the headmaster, PRI members, and villagers.
